I gave birth to a baby boy sitting on a chair facing the couch in the living room. Katy was sitting on the couch watching. My labor was very short. I gave one big push and he fell out on the floor. He was very long and skinny. I picked him up and started nursing. He sucked for a moment and then stopped and laid there in my arms all floppy. I switched him to the other breast, and as he was nursing, my mouth filled up with spit. I opened my mouth to let the spit out becase I was starting to choke on it, and it was milk.
I tried to ride a bike to work, but turned around halfway there because I had to go back and get the baby. I chased a teenaged boy up the street and into his yard.
I decided to drive to work to tell them I couldn't be there because of the new baby. As I was standing by the car, I remembered to feel my stomach because I have always wondered what the skin feels like right after giving birth. It was rough and squashy. I got in the car but couldn't back out or drive straight, I just kept bumping into the curb. Finally I gave up and went inside and decided to call instead.
Then I was sitting on the couch, nursing a kitten. It wouldn't nurse very well, so I called the doctor. I told her my baby wasn't nursing and she said it was because I smelled bad to it and that I should come in and get some herbal ointment to rub all over myself. I was repeating her instructions out loud in disbelief to her, but she wouldn't say anything. Then I realized that I was trying to nurse the kitten, and my baby was somewhere else.
I found him and we went to the upstairs bathroom, which was the bathroom of the Ft Collins house. I was watching in the mirror as I nursed him, and he was growing older before my eyes. I lifted his lip and saw that he had two teeth in the middle, and then I pulled his lip back farther and saw that he had row after row of pointed, overlapping teeth, going all the way up the side of his skull. In that moment, he also had blond hair. I was so upset that my first baby was deformed and a boy. I felt like a failure, and I felt sorry for Brad, whose baby it was. Then the baby grabbed my ass and said something rude to me. I ran down the stairs to tell Katy that it was a demon baby, but I couldn't find her. Then the baby escaped.
Suddenly I was in the backseat of a big gold car from the 1950s. Doug was driving and Katy was in the front seat. Really loud heavy metal was playing, and I screamed at Doug to turn it off because they couldn't hear me telling them about the demon baby that we were looking for. He asked me how many grunts it took to have the baby, and I told him just one. We drove into a movie theater parking lot, and I knew that the baby had gone in to see a movie called Bump, which was a sports comedy with puppet creatures. We drove around looking for him, but didn't get out of the car. Then we were watching the same movie in the car as a way to tempt the baby out to us because it was his favorite movie. Suddenly he emerged from a pile of stuffed animals in the back of the car and I grabbed him. We drove to the police station and walked in through the double glass front doors to turn him in.
