I Dreamed

More Balls, Cages

This was a dream I had last week. All I can remember is that there was a giant black bouncy ball, like the red rubber kind. It towered over me. A chainlink fence sprung up around the ball, but it was too small to contain it, and the ball bulged out through the links. The fence disappeared and I tried to put the ball back in through a doorway. It wouldn't fit.

Military Yard

All night long I had a loop-dream about dishes. I was trying to collect them all from various members of Brad's family in order to put them into some sort of organization at his dad's house. There were plates and lots of red pots with lids. I kept doing the same thing over and over and never made any headway.

Two men and I had a gang. We cut the fence to a military compound and snuck around in the front yard looking for weapons to destroy. There was a barn and a shed. We saw a missile in front of the yard, standing on its tail, and I called it a Rocket Bomb. I knocked it over, and then saw it had a broken nose and was empty inside. We didn't find any other weapons to break.

Straight and Narrow

I was spending the night in a car. The passenger window was cracked and I looked at it upside down. It was like a spider web, but made of white tissue paper, and I could see through the opaque sections between the strands even though those sections were, by definition, opaque. There was some conflict with a woman trying to tell me I wasn't safe there.

I was driving down a narrow highway with both sides built up above my head. It was only one lane, and my vehicle moved like a ball rolling down a tube.

Lovers

I had been entered into an arranged marriage with the King of England, who was a giant cat. He traveled a lot, and I only had contact with him through his handlers via the phone.

I went to the Interzone, and the blond guy from Two Gallants was there sitting at a table. We looked at each other and both did a double-take as I came through the door. I was very excited that we were attracted to each other, and I could feel how happy he was, too.

Bike Ride

I was invited along to a bike ride with an older man and two older women. We were going to ride to Seattle. I packed my bags and got on my cruiser and met them on the street. When I saw that they had street bikes, I started to doubt that I would be able to keep up, so I asked them if they still wanted me to go. They said they didn't think it was a good idea anymore.

I was at an indoor water slide park, and when I came down a slide, I dropped one of my bags and a big blue towel came out. When I went up to the help desk to ask for my bag back, they said I couldn't have it until they finished searching it. I was enraged and accused them of stealing everyone's bags to look for pot to smoke. It took a long time to get my bag back, and it was missing a lot of things.

I was in the ocean on a surf board. Everyone else was farther out than me, and the waves were very flat. I paddled as hard as I could and caught a slow-moving wave about a foot high. I had perfect balance and even though the board kept stopping, I could get it going again by kicking at the water. I heard people cheering me on.

Star Wars

I was in Colorado in a version of Brad's house. His boss Tanya ran a sight-seeing corporation that featured drive-in plays in Brad's front yard. We were closing the house up for winter, and we had to get the Ball Cage ready for a Star Wars battle which would be taking place there in a few years. We booby-trapped it with knives and cans of soup.

Baby Amanda

I was in love with a baby named Amanda. She looked like me when I was infant--round head, fat cheeks, yellowish skin, but not jaundiced. I thought she was part melon. She had big brown eyes and short red hair. She couldn't talk, but she understood me when I asked her questions. I asked her if she wanted to tell me a story, and she nodded. I knew I had to wait until she learned how to talk, though, or at least until later than evening. She had a brother and parents from India.

Before I met Amanda, I had been walking through streets carrying my wet bathing suit. A group of kids followed me as I climbed a hill. I sat down in front of a small box on stilts, and stuffed my bathing suit through a hole in the front of the box so that it would dry. One of the kids told me that the box wasn't a dryer, but that I could find a good dryer on the next street over.

Concrete Festival

I was walking with Brad on a curving sidewalk at Bumbershoot. I was happy because I had found an extra dimension--it was the concrete ring around the edge of the fountain. It was clean there, and I walked so neatly, placing one foot precisely in front of the other. I felt so organized and lucky, as though this extra dimension would make everything alright. There was no clutter, no need for money or clothes, my poison oak wasn't itching. I felt so serene.

Jealousy

I was on the highway in a truck with Brad and Malia. Malia was driving. She was talking about how she and Brad were having great sex, and it became clear that she had no idea I was his girlfriend. Brad and I sat very still, not looking at each other, and I hurt so bad.
